DRAMATIC SIZZLE & SHOWREEL
About Me.
Elizabeth LiMei is an actor, writer, producer, and published author whose work approaches storytelling from both sides of the camera. She takes on roles through performance as well as the worldbuilding that surrounds it. A lifelong athlete and bicoastal creative, she is based between Los Angeles and New York City and is drawn to idiosyncratic, imperfect characters and stories that redefine what representation can look like on screen.
Adopted from China, raised in Colorado, and shaped by her years in Chicago—the three C's—Elizabeth's roots are as diverse as the places that built her. She has a BFA in Film & Television from DePaul University with a concentration in Screenwriting and uses that degree (I know, shocking) to write, produce, and pitch her own work. She is currently shopping a four season coming-of-age series and a nightclub heist series that explores female empowerment and the dark side of nightlife.
As a multidisciplinary artist and Asian American filmmaker, Elizabeth is deeply involved in every aspect of the filmmaking process. Through her production company, LiMei Studios, she works primarily in the indie film space and has worn just about every hat a production can offer. She is passionate about reconstructing the narratives surrounding Asian American stories and what they can look like in modern media and is fascinated by the craftsmanship of the teams behind the camera just as much as what happens in front of it. Elizabeth believes that understanding every device used to tell a story—from lighting and composition to color and score—is essential to building truthful characters and living in the emotional world of a film.
